A Camera is something that a photographer can not live. You can get Hundreds of different camera options ranging from $500 to $5000.

For beginners, there is no point in spending thousands of dollars buying a camera and lens alone.

Instead, Start with budget-friendly options. We will talk about this later.

For now, let’s talk about the four main types of cameras and their use.

1. Compact Cameras

Compact Cameras are often called Point-and-Shoot Cameras. They are small in size and beginner-friendly. You don’t get many customization options like changing lenses, manual modes, etc. Also, the quality will not good as other cameras in the league.

Point and Shoot cameras are a perfect option to shoot simple photographs or videos and don’t want any technicalities. They are very budget-friendly. You can find a perfect compact camera for under $300.

You can check out some of my favorite compact cameras below.

2. DSLR Cameras

DSLR Cameras are the upgraded version of point-and-shoot cameras. You get a lot of customization options while shooting. DSLRs are out of fashion now. They are quite big and have a lot of moving parts that makes them quite unreliable options.

DSLR is perfect for people who don’t want to take photography seriously and doing it for passion. You can get great DSLR options in the range of $400 to $800.

You can check out my favorite DSLRs below.

3. Mirrorless Cameras

Mirrorless Cameras are my favorite. They are reliable because of their small size and fewer mechanisms.

If you are still using DSLRs, then it is worth switching to Mirrorless Cameras. You get a lot of camera options in this category that begins at just the $500 range. The only con I have faced using Mirrorless Cameras is that they have short battery life because of the electronic viewfinder.

You can check out my favorite mirrorless cameras option below.

4. Action Cameras

As the name says, Action Cameras are made to be taken while doing something adventurous. People use it as a secondary camera by mounting it on the helmet, car, bike, etc.

They are small and build-up of strong material that can easily withstand adventures. You can get a great action camera in the range of $50 to $500.
